| Commitment to Safety |
Cakasa/Fluor sets stringent standards for global safety practices, both at project work sites and in all office environments. To support these standards, Cakasa/Fluor’s safety department offers clients ongoing training and a formal safety evaluation program. These programs and standards improve project performance through heightened employee awareness, reduced schedule disruptions due to lost-time accidents, and minimized liability claims. Cakasa/Fluor has established and is committed to a Zero Incidents goal. |
| Engineering Staff |
Our staff provides innovative and cost-effective engineering, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance services. Maximizing the utilization of technical Nigerian resources is a prime goal.
A Fluor specialist in the key engineering disciplines is training and leading more than 150 personnel in the engineering design office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Cakasa personnel were seconded to a Fluor engineering execution center outside Nigeria to participate in the design of major projects where Fluor work processes, design standards, systems, practices, and organizational network are acquainted with. The secondment and the Fluor specialist are a key element in the development and training of the Cakasa personnel for executing projects the Fluor way while meeting Fluor’s quality assurance requirements. |

| Technology Transfer |
Cakasa / Fluor understand the need for sustainable development, and we are committed to the concept and the use of local resources. We support the continuing education of Nigerians in engineering, construction, and the disciplines that support project execution. We will continue with our plan of employing local talent and developing a world class team of engineers, designers, and support specialists. Nigerian nationals are contributing to every discipline required for project execution.
We expect the mix of Fluor-based expatriates and Cakasa personnel to change remarkably over the next few years as Cakasa personnel acquire the experience and skills to perform the work alone. A succession plan is in place. Cakasa personnel are being tutored to eventually assume leadership positions in the Cakasa / Fluor office. Fluor personnel are facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise and ensuring that Fluor standards of excellence are met on every design.
Fluor will share its tools and systems with Cakasa to perform the work as identified in the Nigerian market. Our “One Team” concept requires that all team members use the same tool set. There is considerable history behind our philosophy. Fluor has much experience in sharing tools and systems with her working partners.
We consider it imperative to state that Cakasa / Fluor already have a wide range of integrated automation tools. Combined with our broad expertise and work processes, the tools help to synchronize the execution of every project phase, enabling our customers to master the complete life cycle of their plant. |
| Data and Information Management |
We believe that information technology is integral to good project execution. We have installed the following communication equipment to enhance information management, exchange, and control:
- Connected to a 2mbps SCPC dedicated VSAT connection. The system links our offices nationwide and permits data exchange with all Fluor offices around the world.

| Construction Management |
Both Fluor and Cakasa have strong and varied histories in construction and in managing contractors. We recognize that the construction phase is where every plan and every action affect the success of the project. Materials and drawings must be available and issued on time, or else delays and costs mount rapidly.
Cakasa / Fluor have experts who:
- Plan and schedule small and large projects
- Estimate and create a budget to meet customer needs and constraints,
- Develop and administer construction contracts
- Supervise and manage contractors to meet project requirements
Safety management, cost control, schedule administration, progress measurement, quality control, and an understanding of local labor are also key construction variables requiring seasoned professionals. Safety and quality are an inherent part of Cakasa / Fluor culture.

Fluor and Cakasa’s collective specialty is providing engineering, procurement and construction management services, with the foundation and backup of Fluor’s performance technology and online knowledge communities.
Cakasa/Flour provides customers with operations and maintenance services for industrial facilities. Our Nigerian office uses the full array of work processes, design standards, systems, practices, and procedures that are used in Fluor’s major execution centers around the world.
The quality product that the world has come to expect of Fluor is now available from Cakasa / Fluor. Nigerian industrial customers no longer have to travel to the United States or Europe to get solutions to either simple or complex technical problems. Engineering and construction services of a world class nature are available locally. Neither customers nor experts have to travel in order to meet, which otherwise may take days and weeks away from the project.
More of a customer’s technical staff can participate in technical meetings that once were considered cost prohibitive, thereby increasing the exposure of junior and inexperienced personnel to seasoned professionals. Local availability also means that Nigerians are being trained and utilized in the development of projects in Nigeria. A final advantage is that, with Cakasa / Fluor close by, downtime due to any emergency disruption is also reduced.
A key ingredient in Cakasa / Fluor training of Nigerians in retaining and sustaining the development of Nigerian resources is continuous work, which is an important part of our sustainable development program.
